Match Report U10's 18/10/09
On a cold, damp Sunday morning the under 10's met at Chigwell police club for what they later found out was the first cup game of the season. Playing a Belmont side who are two leagues above ourselves Boca begun to dominate the match from the beginning, with good interplay between Dylan Bruns, Ellis Andrews and Sydney Jevtha creating some good shot opportunities. Belmont begun to get into the game and were awarded a penaulty after oliver Boyd brought down the attacker. Stand in keepers the story of the season so far, but what a job they are doing with Harrison Linney this time saving a penaulty (with his feet). Boca got hold of the game again through the Lampard esque Lee Cavanagh, taking the ball from the defence and moving us on.
Half time and the scores were level.
Boca set out from the off with the managers comments ringing in their ears 'Get the ball down, play football and relax' Dylan Bruns now in goal took it literally and passed to the opposing striker infront of our goal, however Belmont returned the favour and put it comfotably wide. Half way through the second half and the Belmont tide came in, ball being punted long at every opportunity. Boca stood strong with an unbelievable deffensive partnership of Sonny Hunt and Oliver Boyd or (little and large as they are known) Time and time again they threw their bodies on the line, sonny making two goal line clearances with his head. Rory Applin continued workin hard up top to get us into the game again and we were rewarded with a few strong opportunities ourself. Parish was on and filled in at left back due to Boyd running himself into the ground. The defence remained strong and cavanagh through heavy tackles with partner in crime Hunt untill the final whistle.
Full time 0-0.
At this point Boca believe we have another point untill we are told of it being a cup game and we have to take penaulties against a Belmont side of 2 leagues higher. We miss our first two due to one David Beckham conversion and a great save from an excellent keeper. We then got back into it with a Belmont save an miss. All pressure went onto Boca's Ellis Andrews, the ball was saved and Boca were out.A great game from both sides and our u10's done our club and their manager very proud. (I blame the manager for poor fixture observation anyways - UP THE BOCA!!!)
Match: Boca Youth 5 Vs 2 Dagenham United A
Boca Team: Armistead, Boyce, Mills, Parsons, Ogunsanlu, Prince, Zogaj, Andrews, Speakman, Khanye, Duggan.
Subs: Silvio, Mooney, Strange, Fox
Boca Scorers: Khanye x2, Andrews, Zogaj, Prince.
In a match between two strong teams in the Echo A, it was the much more determined Boca side that came out on top. With the match starting fast, it was Dagenham that attacked from the kick off and striking the woodwork, proving that this would be a tough afternoon for the Boca boys. Boca then attacked soon after with the hard working Duggan pressuring the back four. As the match progressed Boca began to string their passes together, little patterns of play formed on the left side with Ogunsanlu at left back starting the moves. Boca were then the first to break the deadlock, with left sided attacker Khanye receiving the ball in the middle of the field turning and shooting for goal from the edge of the box and beating the keeper well. However after the goal Dagenham started to fight back as Boca went to sleep slightly, and United finished the half the better team with an equalising goal.
1-1 at half time.
As the second half started it was clear that Boca had got back on their game, with the back four standing strong and the midfield beginning to dominate. Attacks began to blossom on the right side with Boyce, Andrews and Speakman all linking up well. Boca’s second came soon after. After a floated free kick from Parsons, found Khanye who finished he’s second with a well placed volley. Boca then added a third as Zogaj broke from the midfield setting up fellow midfielder Andrews who finished in the top corner and deserved his goal. Boca then found themselves 3-1 up and coasting slightly as a succession of corners led to Zogaj’s fourth and Prince’s fifth. With Mooney coming on in a new role as a centre forward, Strange and Silvio fitting in as wing backs, and Fox coming on as a right sided forward, it was Duggan, Andrews, Boyce and Speakman that all got deserved rests. With Dagenham finishing strongly, they grabbed a second that did add some pressure to the game but in the end proved to be just a consolation. With a second successive win the boys find themselves in the top three and starting to build confidence. Good Win, Good Performance well done Boca.
Who are we? BOCA!

The weather was fine and so was the result Joel Nathan acting Captain, in the place of Andy Swallow away on Blue Square Premier duty with Grays, opened the scoring with a fine strike from the edge of the area, minutes later Joel doubled up by scoring with his head. Peter P. failed to control the ball and Wormley nearly scored, Peter blamed the pitch, the team blamed the groundsman. Kicking up hill in the second half and with some clever tactical changes made at half time by the manager, Boca went into a unasailable three nil lead. The Wormley centre half was in all sorts of trouble not only from Nathan the centre forward but his extremely tight shorts. This Saturday brings the Newbury Park Vets side to the Academy in a winner takes all grudge match. Nathan will be acting captain again as Swallow is away on International duty in Wales.
